Activity Segment Program
Segments are small patches presented by Pack 317 to recognize our Scouts' participation in pack or den events. Segments are unique to an event each program year, but the design may be reused from year-to-year. Segment patches are not meant to be worn on the Official Cub Scout Uniform Shirt, but are instead displayed with pride on a red Brag Vest or patch blanket. A Three Fires Council round patch is worn centered on the back of the vest or blanket.
Please be aware that the segment program is a local program that Pack 317 participates in; it is not an official BSA program.
The Brag Vest or Patch Blanket is available for purchase from our local Scout Shops. The guide below can be used to identify what segments were awarded during the program year.
Journey to Excellence Awards
Since 2011, Scouting’s Journey to Excellence (JTE) is the BSA aspirational planning, performance and recognition program designed to encourage and reward success of our units, districts, and councils. It is meant to encourage excellence and continuous improvement in providing a quality program at all levels of the BSA. Previous unit recognition programs included:
