Welcome to our first newsletter!
We have so much information to share that it only made sense to put it all in one place and create our very own Pack Newsletter! We hope that you find this first issue to be informative.
Spaghetti Dinner on April 23rd
Our annual Spaghetti Dinner is scheduled for Friday, 04/23/2021 at the Plano American Legion from 5pm-7pm. This year, we will be offering both dine-in and drive-through options. We are going to need quite a bit of ADULT help for this event. A sign-up form to volunteer to help will be available at the den meetings on April 12th and 19th. We encourage every family to help in some way to help us make this a successful fundraising event for the Pack!
Family Cabin Campout on May 1st
It has been a long time since our Pack attempted to offer a family camping experience. On Saturday, 05/01/2021, we will be hosting our 1st Family Cabin Campout at Hoover Forest Preserve. This event has two components:
Daytime Activities:
Fun, games, and advancement will be provided beginning at 3pm. Dinner will also be served. This part of the event is open to all Scouts and their families. A $5/person fee is necessary to offset the cost of dinner.
Overnight Camping:
We have reserved the Moonseed Bunkhouse for Scouts and ONE parent to stay overnight. Space is very limited and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Every Scout that camps overnight is required to also have a parent camping as well. A $10/person fee is necessary to offer the cost of dinner, campfire snacks, and breakfast.
Summer Camp Opportunities
All Scouts are encouraged to attend the “Weird Science Day Camp” at the Yorkville American Legion from June 28 – July 2, 2021. The cost of participation is $175/youth. Scouts going into First Grade next year will require an adult to attend with them. After you register at https://www.scoutingevent.com/127-DayCamp, please RSVP in Scoutbook, so that we know who is attending.
All Scouts going into Fourth or Fifth Grade next year are encouraged to attend the Webelos Resident Camp at Camp Freeland Leslie from June 13 – 16, 2021. The cost of participation is $205/youth and $145/adults. All participating youth are required to have a parent camping with them. After you register at https://www.scoutingevent.com/127-CFLWRC, please RSVP in Scoutbook, so that we know who is attending.
