We will be joining with the Plano American Legion and Scouts BSA Troop 71 to honor those that have served in our military with a parade march at 10am on May 31st. We will begin from Memorial Park (in front of the Subway downtown on US-34). Please wear your complete Official BSA Uniform (“Class A”) with a Brag Vest (if you have one).
We will be joining with the City of Plano to celebrate Juneteenth on June 19th at Emily G Johns School. Our Scouts will be performing a short historical skit about Juneteenth. Scouts should arrive at 11:45am for the opening ceremony and we will perform around 1pm. Please wear your complete Official BSA Uniform (“Class A”) with a Brag Vest (if you have one). We are planning to join the Sandwich Independence Day Parade on July 4th. More information will be sent via Scoutbook as this date get closer. Please wear your complete Official BSA Uniform (“Class A”) with a Brag Vest (if you have one).
Our Raingutter Regatta Race will be July 12th. We are still finalizing a location for the race, so please pay attention to our website and Scoutbook for an announcement! This is an activity for your Official Scout Uniform (“Class A”). Build kits were distributed at the May Pack Graduation and additional kits can be purchased from the Scout Shops.
Our Scouts had so much fun with last year’s fishing derby that we have decided to bring it back. We will meet on August 15th at 6pm at Foli Park. This is an activity for your Pack Activity Uniform (“Class B”). We will also be inviting any children who might be interested in joining our Pack to this event!
We are working toward earning the National Summertime Pack Award this summer, by offering three summer activities for our Scouts to participate in.
June 6, 2021: Pack Hike at Johnson’s Mound Forest Preserve in Elburn; 3:00pm
July 12, 2021: Pack Raingutter Regatta Race (location TBD); 6pm
August 15, 2021: Fishing Derby at Foli Park; 6pm
Scouts that participate in all three activities will earn their Summertime Activity Pin for their Scout Uniform. Additionally, Scouts who also attend Webelos Resident Camp or Cub Scout Day Camp will also earn the Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award.
It’s not too late to sign-up for Summer Camp!! Registration remains open for these camps until two weeks before the camp begins.
Cub Scout Day Camp
All Scouts are encouraged to attend the “Weird Science Day Camp” at the Yorkville American Legion from June 28 – July 2, 2021. The cost of participation is $160/youth. Scouts going into First Grade next year will require an adult to attend with them. After you register at https://www.scoutingevent.com/127-DayCamp, please RSVP in Scoutbook, so that we know who is attending.
Webelos Resident Camp
All Scouts going into Fourth or Fifth Grade next year are encouraged to attend the Webelos Resident Camp at Camp Freeland Leslie from June 13 – 16, 2021. The cost of participation is $190/youth and $130/adults. All participating youth are required to have a parent camping with them. The Kane County Cougars are hosting a Scout Overnight on July 24, 2021 at Northwestern Medicine Field in Geneva. The Joliet Slammers Scout Sleepover is August 14, 2021, at DuPage Medical Group Field in Joliet.

Our Pack Leaders will be staffing an Open House at the First Baptist Church on August 2nd and 9th from 6pm-8pm to answer any questions that potential families may have about our program. If you know any children in Kindergarten through Fifth Grade that might be interested in joining the Cub Scouts, please share this information with them!
We will have our 2021-22 Pack Kick-Off Meeting at First Baptist Church on August 23rd at 7pm. Scouts will be participating in games & activities while parents discuss the program for the year. A tentative events calendar can be found on the next page as well.
