We have a couple of great hikes planned this summer.
June 5th - Sannauk Forest Preserve
July 10th - Saw-Wee-Kee Park
August - TBD
We have been asked to return to Emily G Johns School on June 19th to present the history of Juneteenth to the citizens of Plano.
The next payment due date for participants that are headed to Camp Rokilio from June 27-29, 2022, is on Monday, April 4th. Youth need to make a $50 payment and adults need to make a $40 payment. The final balance is due on May 2nd.
We will march in the Plano Independence Day parade on Sunday, July 3, 2022. Lineup is at 12:30pm at Lathrop Park. The parade will kick-off at 1pm. Scouts should be in their full uniform, including Brag Vest. Don't forget your water bottle!!
Our Raingutter Regatta Race will be July 16th. We are still finalizing a location for the race, so please pay attention to our website and Scoutbook for an announcement! This is an activity for your Official Scout Uniform (“Class A”). Build kits were distributed at the May Pack Graduation and additional kits can be purchased from the Scout Shops.
Our older Scouts (entering 5th grade in the fall), can experience the Scouting program at a new level through the Webelos Resident Camp program. Get ready for a 4-day, 3-night overnight camping experience full of thrilling activities and awesome open programming. Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts can complete dozens of advancements and awards in the beautiful woods of Rainbow Scout Reservation in Morris, IL.
Exhilarating campfires, excellent staff, and endless fun can be expected when at camp. Resident camp is a great way to keep youth interested in the Scouting program and provides a good preview into the exciting world of Scouts BSA!
All Scouts are required to attend resident camp with a parent for the entire duration of camp.
Three Fires Council's Wild West Day Camp is at the Yorkville American Legion is from July 25-29, 2022. This is the closest location to our pack. Day Camp is an activity-based adventure for your Scout (and siblings) to enjoy. The emphasis is NOT on advancements, but on having fun and fellowship with your fellow Cub Scouts. Day Camp is recommended for Tigers, Wolves, and Bears. Webelos and Arrow of Light Scouts should consider Summer Resident Camp instead.
Three Fires Council's is holding their annual STEM Spectacular at the College of DuPage on Saturday, August 20, 2022. The Scout who participated last year had a total blast at this event and are already looking forward to what this year's expended event will offer. Sign-up is completed individually at the Scouting Event website.
The Pack Committee will meet on Monday, August 15th, from 7pm-9pm, at the Church to make sure we are ready to kick-off another amazing year of Scouting in Pack 317!
Our first meeting of the new Scouting year will be on Monday, August 22nd, from 7pm-8pm, at the Church. This first meeting is important for parents to attend, as we present information about the 2022-23 program year to parents, while the Cub Scouts are participating in "welcome back" activities.
